Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chickpeas: Drain and rinse your canned chickpeas thoroughly. Optional: remove the skins by gently pinching each chickpea for an ultra-smooth texture.
  2. Blend the Base Ingredients: In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure even mixing.
  3. Add Buffalo Sauce: Gradually pour in the buffalo hot sauce while blending after each addition. Continue until the desired spice level is reached to give the hummus its signature spicy kick.
  4. Adjust Consistency and Flavor: If the hummus is too thick, add a little water or more olive oil to loosen it. Taste and adjust salt, lemon juice, or buffalo sauce to achieve the perfect balance of heat and brightness.
