Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Gently wipe mushrooms clean with a damp cloth or paper towel. Avoid rinsing under water to prevent sogginess. Leave smaller mushrooms whole and halve larger ones to ensure even cooking.
  2. Melt the Butter and Sauté Garlic: Place a skillet over medium heat and melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
  3. Cook the Mushrooms: Add the mushrooms to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly with the garlic butter. Let them cook undisturbed for a few minutes to develop a light golden sear, then stir occasionally until softened and caramelized.
  4. Season and Add Fresh Herbs: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped parsley and, if desired, a squeeze of lemon juice. Cook for another minute to combine flavors.
  5. Serve Immediately: Remove the pan from heat and transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish while still hot. Enjoy alone or as a side or topping for other dishes.
