  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Noodles: Boil egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving about ¼ cup of pasta water, and set noodles aside.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add freshly minced garlic and cook gently until fragrant and lightly golden, taking care not to burn it for a rich, aromatic base.
  3. Combine Sauce Ingredients: Stir in soy sauce and a splash of Reserved pasta water into the garlic-butter mixture, allowing the flavors to meld into a silky sauce that will coat the noodles.
  4. Toss Noodles in Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss thoroughly to coat every strand. Add more pasta water if the mixture seems dry to loosen the sauce.
  5. Finish with Cheese and Garnish: Remove from heat and immediately sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and chopped green onions over the noodles. Toss gently to allow the cheese to melt slightly and blend with the flavors.
