Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Wash and slice the mushrooms. Finely dice the onion and mince the garlic to ensure even cooking and maximum flavor release.
  2. Cook the Beef and Mushrooms: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink, then drain the excess fat. Add the onions, garlic, and mushrooms to the pan and cook until mushrooms soften and onions become translucent.
  3. Mix the Binding Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, salt, pepper, and chosen herbs to create a custard-like base for the casserole.
  4. Combine Everything: Add the cooked beef and mushroom mixture to the egg mixture and stir in half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese until well combined.
