Mini Egg Chocolate Bark

Mini Egg Chocolate Bark

Mini Egg Chocolate Bark is a quick, easy, and customizable dessert that combines silky melted chocolate with crunchy, colorful mini eggs. Perfect for celebrations, gifting, or party snacks, this treat offers a delightful texture and flavor contrast and requires minimal ingredients and prep time.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • Good-quality chocolate (milk, white, or dark) – amount as desired for melting (typically 8-12 oz)
  • Mini eggs – enough to generously cover the chocolate layer (about 1 cup)

Optional Ingredients

  • Butter or coconut oil – 1 teaspoon (to smooth the chocolate and add shine)
  • Sea salt – a light sprinkle to balance sweetness
  • Sprinkles or nuts (e.g., chopped almonds, hazelnuts, pecans) – optional for extra texture or festivity

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy. Have your mini eggs and any optional add-ins ready before melting the chocolate.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Break the chocolate into small pieces. Melt gently using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently for a smooth texture. Optionally add 1 teaspoon of butter or coconut oil for a glossy finish and easier melting.
  3. Spread the Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread evenly using a spatula to about one-quarter inch thickness for the best balance of crispiness and sturdiness.
  4. Add Mini Eggs: Sprinkle mini eggs liberally over the wet chocolate, pressing them lightly so they stick well. Add any optional nuts, sprinkles, or a light sprinkle of sea salt now.
  5. Chill and Set: Refrigerate the baking sheet for at least one hour or until the chocolate hardens completely. Once set, break the bark into pieces of any size suitable for serving or gifting.

Notes

  • Use quality chocolate for smoother melting and richer flavor.
  • Melt chocolate gently to prevent burning or graininess.
  • Spread the chocolate evenly for consistent thickness and clean breaks.
  • Press mini eggs lightly into the chocolate to avoid cracking and ensure adherence.
  • Store the bark in a cool, dry place to maintain crispness and prevent melting.
