Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Roll Dough

  • 1 package crescent roll dough (or gluten-free alternative)

Pecan Pie Filling

  • 1 cup chopped pecans (fresh or toasted)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup or honey
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash or binding)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Finely or roughly chop the pecans based on your crunch preference. Melt the butter and mix it with brown sugar, vanilla extract, and corn syrup or honey to create the sweet pecan filling.
  2. Unroll the Crescent Dough: Open the crescent roll dough package and unroll it onto a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Separate the dough into triangles following the package directions.
  3. Add the Pecan Filling: Spoon a generous amount of the pecan filling onto the wide end of each dough triangle. Avoid overfilling to prevent leaking during baking.
  4. Roll Up the Crescent Rolls: Starting at the wide end, gently roll each triangle toward the pointed end, enclosing the pecan filling inside. Curve the ends slightly to form classic crescent shapes.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Optional: brush the rolls with egg wash for a shiny, golden finish. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm to savor the gooey filling and flaky crust.

Notes

  • Use fresh pecans for better flavor and crunch.
  • Do not overfill the rolls to avoid filling leakage during baking.
  • Brush rolls with egg wash for a golden, shiny surface.
  • Monitor baking closely starting at 12 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Allow rolls to cool slightly for the filling to set properly before eating.
