Instructions

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt to evenly distribute the leavening agents and seasoning.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with both the granulated sugar and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy, trapping air to help create soft, chewy cookies.
  4. Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined, adding moisture and enhancing flavor.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed just until combined to avoid overmixing and tough cookies.
  6. Fold in M&M Candies: Gently fold in the M&M candies, keeping a few aside to place on top of the cookie dough mounds before baking for a colorful finish.
